The Bills
I missed 2 bands (blame it on the fucking map). Perhaps Hickup (is it correct? could be hiccup) and Fearful Eyes are finished after me. Okay here are the bills when I got there:

1. FuckThe
Overall performance is awful. Looks like they’re squadron of high school kids learning how to play metal with excessive level of undefined guitar distortion hence the drum sound was drown. Kick on the stage with band jingle, fuckthe..fuckthe..repeated over and over, this band is suitable placed in the initial roster as eyes-opener for the sleepy visitors.

2. Nostoc
Consist of 2 guitarists, drummer, bassist and vocalist; they bring a troop of female supporters (should I say cheerleaders?) lucratively mobbing the scene. The performance demonstrated by adolescent lad personnel was good enough carrying modern rock genre like Staind and Puddle of Mudd.

3. Outside Ordinary
Similar with Nostoc carrying modern rock, the five members of Outide Ordinary performed well. I fascinated with their guitars and bass acts, they trading off the lick neatly. Good potential band I guess.

4. Elloco
Sorry I gotta get something to eat out there and doing evening prayer (Sholat Maghrib). I couldn’t give something to say here except the food near the venue was good and cheap!

5. Authority
Superb performance! It’s another band from Bandung with plenty of loyal fans. They said going to studio for recording album. If that so, it should be anticipated album to acquire considering their excellent live performance they’ve demonstrated in GoodFest. I was totally impressed. Authority in my perspective carries nu-metal genres like Dope and Disturbed.

6. Draw
Punk rockers band consists of 2 guitarists, bassist, drummer and vocalist. I could identify one song from Green Day from the set of songs they’ve performed (I’m not a big fans of punk but Green Day is one original that catches my attention). Unluckily, the guitar sounds were messed up. It hurts my ear. Probably they should hire better technician.

7. Kuro!
The gang of turtles (kuro I think is Javanese word for turtle, correct?) carrying punk genre started to fire up the masses. Very attractive band, with plethora of fans doing body surfing to appreciate their performance

8. Fall
First impression could be deceptive. They’re not metal at all in appearance. Bald head, slightly overweight body wearing collar shirt. Whut? Then they started to kick the stage and I was totally blasted off! I was floored by their thrash metal performance. Very solid with growling vokills guaranteed to bash brit-pop gay in pieces. Damn good.

9. Lost Sight
Very attractive performance! They’re ruling the stage effectively, especially the excessive energy that both two guitarists erupted. Yields massive audience jump to the stage spreading chaos in unison with short-period metalcore songs they’re blasting in the arena.

10. Thinking Straight
This band in my opinion is one of the best performers of the bills. With one guitarist, the four members capture very entertaining acts with precise and sharp musicianship skills transmitting intense energy of metalcore akin to Lost Sight.

11. Step Forward
Standard formation of metal band employs one extremely gritty female voice comparable to male growl. She must have a fresh meat for a breakfast! The voices characters were powerful, yet precise crawling the low and high tones interval with ease. This band shows comparable performance with Thinking Straight. Their studio album begins next month, surely one of highly anticipated album considering their flawless appearance onstage.

12. Killed by Butterfly
What a great guitars performance onstage! Killed by Butterfly rules the stage with two guitars: one guitarist also doing vocal duties and one dedicated guitarist. Though the other members also perform equally well rule the stage with attractive motions and harmony rhythmic grooves, I was still totally impressed with both guitarists demonstrated their skill on fretboard mastery. Certainly this band deserves one of the best performers on the bills.

13. Straight Answer
If I’m not mistaken they sang one of Rancid song in the beginning. They’re senior punkers. Stepping on the stage, abruptly massive punkers approaching on. The chubby yet vigorous vocalist delivers a set of six songs. One of song looks familiar to punkers is “Kami Menolak Tunduk” (we refuse to obey) ruling the crowd in the arena to sing along together creates nuance of heroic cathedral choir attracting body surfers. For punk genres this band totally rules. I was entertained as well by their easy-listening song delivered in excellent musicianship.

14. Straight Out
Another one female and one male voices trade-off. Their music and appearance looks good to me. One of their songs I remembered called “Butterfly Kisses” really touchy. The female reminiscent of Amy Lee from Evanescence but couldn’t reach high octave range. The crowd ahead of the stage decreased significantly.  Maybe they’re tired and couldn’t wait the most awaiting special performer that night, SiksaKubur. It was 00.30 o’clock.

15. SiksaKubur
Finally the stage master of GoodFest arrived onstage. As predicted, the four members perform equally well in blasting grooves harmony. The voice performed by Japra as usual is the most intriguing thrash metal style a la Max Cavalera delivered flawlessly. One of the song catching my ears was “I am The Worst” it was totally blast off. The drummer Gorust showed his technical guts thumping his drumkits with rhythmic rumble as if Flo Munier spirit from Cryptopsy fills in his soul. The bassist Yudi, assists the grooves with rapid picking low end strings. The audience looks like enjoy them a lot. Sadly they only have 4 sets of songs. One of the downside I recorded is the tonal flaw of guitar played by Andre. The treble was set too high causing a bit achy in the ear. Nevertheless, SiksaKubur successfully rules the stage and delivering what the metal should be expected.

It was 01.30 in the morning. My bones felt pulled away from my body, but the orgasmic pleasure thrills in. Overall, it was well done musical celebration. The genres served are comprehensive from punk, hardcore to extreme metal. The audiences were good attitude. They enjoy the music as the players enjoy playing. No fight, no chaotic clash, just pure salutation to the performers. The entrance fee is considerably cheap. But you’ll get the decent sound system and comfy place to enjoy promising pleasant musical enjoyment at eight hours long.  If you don’t like the band or getting tiresome, just go out take a fresh air. There’s a scenic garden outdoor with relaxing chairs spreading around. Conclusion, GoodGuys fruitfully conveys the event of musical experience might be the breed of Indonesian Ozzfest. Congratulations.
