Established in Jakarta at August 1995, Kekal has chances to record various demo tapes. First commercial tape was “Contra Spiritualia Nequitiae” released in June 1996. First full length album released under Sonic Wave, Singapore label was “Beyond The Glimpse of Dreams” acclaimed to be successful among underground society for almost 5000 copies sold. Musicianship-wise, Kekal blends some mainstream extreme genres: death, black, classic old school, doom, gothic metal, dark wave, a bit of jazzy fusion into progressive patterns build into everlasting unique Kekal character. The root of Kekal lies in [Editor perspective] Scandinavian black/speed metal similar like Children of Bodom, Rhapsody, Dimmu Borgir, Hammerfall, etc which depends on keyboards-guitar harmony. What makes Kekal unique is employing sampler (from industrial sound, traditional percussion, even from a hip-hop singer), loops, drum program, synth, vocal effects, high reverberant guitar riff and alike of modern voicing touches to add industrial tastes, atmospheric and spacious nuances of progressive style.

Through in and out personnel, Kekal remains resilient creative works by releasing "Embrace The Dead", "The Painful Experience" and "1000 Thoughts of Violence". The latest was produced under Fear Dark, Holland label for Europe spreads and Clenched Fist U.S. for North America distribution.

One of Kekal distinguished pose in underground scenes was Band appearance in Fear Dark Festival, which was held by Fear Dark label along with Crimson Moonlight (Sweden), Morphia (Netherland), Immortal Souls (Finland) and Sacrificium (Denmark) on the bills. The band also release video documentation during 2 weeks European mini tour done in March 2004.

The band has already recorded few songs for the upcoming album, some of the titles are: "Envy and its Manifesto", "Strength in My Weakness", "A Dream for A Moment", and "Characteristicon". "Production-wise, this is the best sounding we have achieved yet. The drums and guitars sounds are killer. We also invited to "Tribute to DEATH" voluntary album organized by Amon-Ra label", said Jeff the frontman. Okay Jeff, we’ll wait your next explosive release and keep up the amazing creativity (BugJet-Ed.)
