Band History
1999-2000:
 It all started in the beginning of 1999, when:

Ibrahim: Drums
Erlan Akbar : Guitars
Sina : Bass
Ahmad Fauzi : Vocals
 
Formed a (untitled) band in Bandung (the capital city of West Java) with metal basic, but the band didn’t last longer because Sina had to settled in Semarang  (Central Java), and Erlan decide to leave the band for some personal reasons with the other members. After few months later the band recruited two more members for filling the empty positions: 
 
Ibrahim : Drums
Firman : Bass
Haryono : Vocals
Ahmad Fauzi : Vocals
Roby : Guitars

The band then played some black / gothic metal covers. To make it more harmonic and "easy listening" the band recruited Adam as the keyboard player and Iqbal as the new drummer replacing Ibrahim (latter he became playing guitars with Roby). First the band was called "Father’s Bastard", but it sounds too brutal for a gothic metal band, thus the band made a change to "Elmeod" in Arabian is "Al-mauth" (translation: "Death") based on the philosophy what death is all about for mortal being. With two guitarists and keyboards on the band, the atmosphere of gothic/black metal is shown within the aura of Elmeod. This is the first start for Elmeod to evolved in the Indonesian underground movement
 
2000-2001:
The band keeps playing in several places of some underground event with the other great Indonesian underground bands. At the end of 2001 Ahmad Fauzi decided to leave the band because the music which Elmeod played didn’t fit him anymore.
 
2001-2002:
This was the hard years for the band, because in this year Ibrahim had announced that he was no longer again with Elmeod, (he is going to concentrate in his solo project). His leaving, had great impact to the rest of the members and as the result the band didn’t have any activity for about six month (it nearly broke up), but at the end the rest of the members wants to continued what they have made in the first place, so they tried to create new formula for the "reborn" band:

As time goes by the band finally had made their own songs, the three first song were: "We Shall Rise Again", "The Light of Darkness" and "Entrance To My Coffin", it was recorded alive when the band rehearsals at a studio and compiled in the demo called "Helliocentrix". In this short time a new session guitar player, Gilang helped Elmeod.
 
2002-2003:
On December 2002 a new guitarist Dimas joins Elmeod. With Dimas on the band, Elmeod may have a bright future for rising again. On March-April 2003 Elmeod had release their 1st mini album "Helliocentrix" with the major helped of Dimas. In August 2003 Maya joined Elmeod for the Angel Choir sections (replacing Tanty due she is concentrating in her studies). On December 2003 Elmeod had started to record their new materials.

2003-2004:
On February 2004, Elmeod finally has recorded the ultimate work entitled "Reborn As Flame", and sign a contract with RA Production (the largest Indonesian Black/Gothic Metal label ever-known)... the chapter of a new beginning...
 
2004-2005:
 In the new evening dawn of this year, Elmeod will start to record their new album "Neo Plus Ultra"... so wait for the next strike...!

mohon doa Written by firman on 2006-01-28 13:36:02 saya sudah kembali ke bandung dari perantauan neh..harapan :  doakan reunifikasi elmeod oke, karena mr. black yon terisolasi di sulteng entah sampai kapan, mr. adam "hot"terisolasi di papua. hanya saya, dim'z dan maya yang tersisa di bandung, robe dan ibang juga sibuk di jakarta. tapi mudah2an album qta nanti "NpU" bisa kawan2 nikmati ok.  Ohya doakan saya bisa segera menyelesaikan S2 saya juga.  Thanks bro..
